Award-Winning! Contaminated Site Remediation in Ulm

Following extensive investigations for unexploded ordnance, the contaminated soil will be removed using overlapping large-diameter boreholes down to 7 m below ground level and replaced with uncontaminated material. At contamination hotspots, the boreholes will reach depths of up to 12 m. In total, approximately 51,000 m³ of soil material will be replaced.

The remediation work was accompanied by intensified public relations efforts by the City of Ulm. As part of this initiative, the entire remediation process was continuously documented using a construction site webcam.
