Removal and disposal of mineral fibers and asbestos
Project description:
At Schwarzach, Mittelbrunn, Stolberg, three locations of Open Grid Europe GmbH, the replacement of a compressor turbine is being performed by Nuovo Pignone S.p.A, Florence/Italy, a daughter company of GE Oil & Gas. Before the construction work, such as dismantling of pipelines, the corresponding preliminary investigation of AMF- (artificial mineral fiber) and asbestos-containing insulate cardboards are required. The mineral fibers and asbestos containing material removal activities are coordinated by MWH S.p.A. In addition, selected samples of AMF-insulations were tested and the carcinogenicity KI-index was determined.Services:
- Creation of a vacuum cell
- Professional dismantlement of facade panels of the filter building (asbestos cement)
- Professional dismantlement of the pipe insulation outside the turbine hall (AMF category K 2)
- Professional dismantlement of the turbine insulation (AMF category K 2)
- Expert monitoring and surveillance of the above-mentioned remediation measures
- Vacuum cleaning after the remediation measures
- Professional disposal of the resulting hazardous materials during the remedial measures
- Documentation of the remedial measures in a report
