Project description:

After production of mechanical components was discontinued and the site vacated and sold, chlorinated compounds were detected in groundwater by the new owner. Groundwater containment systems were rapidly put in place to avoid diffusion and a remediation design was submitted for regulatory approval. The discovery of contamination generated a litigation over remediation liability between previous and current owners.
