Rehabilitation Plans of Base Metal Mines in South-East, Bulgaria

Project description:

The feasibility study aimed at the assessment of environmental liabilities and possible remediation options of five base metal mines in the south east of Bulgaria. The objectives of the project were assessment of the environmental status of the mining sites, preparation of rehabilitation plans and mitigation measures to reduce the risks to an acceptable level, design of reliable remedial measures for elimination of the contamination in result of subsequent remediation and reduction of the contamination of the waters, the dumps and the tailings ponds.
