Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) pre-screening for five Philip Morris International (PMI) sites in Italy, Russia, Turkey, Indonesia and Portugal

Project description:

Phillip Morris International (PMI) planned five factories in different global territories (Crespellano, Italy; Izhora close to St. Petersburg, Russia; Philsa, Turkey; Sukorejo, Indonesia and Tabaqueira, Portugal) to be certified against the Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) sustainability standard as a preparation for a global roll-out of the standard. The AWS standard is an integrative system for business and agriculture to assess, verify and communicate sustainable water management and use. Prior to the certification, a pre-screening by a recommended consultant such as HPC AG was required to prepare the sites for the certification. HPC AG, Frankfurt and denkstatt GmbH, Vienna cooperated with local Inogen Alliance associates and conducted the AWS trainings and assessments in Italy and Russia. HPC Italy, Milano and Branan Environment, Moscow provided local support. For Turkey, Indonesia and Portugal HPC Frankfurt provided the technical support via remote service. The on-site assessments were conducted by denkstatt GmbH.
